Brace Yourself for the Exclamation Points

Collin had a short vital stim session last night just to get him used to the leads. He had a couple of small swallows, but nothing else happened until we tried to take the leads off. And then he started crying!!! Hard!!!! He got all red-faced and I had to pick him up and comfort him!!!! It was awesome!!!!!

Then today, he had another, longer session since he tolerated his first one so well. And he had a TON of BIG SWALLOWS!!! AND HE SUCKED FROM A STRAW!!!!! TWICE!!!!! The first one scared him and he almost choked, but he recovered and swallowed it eventually. If that's just the first real session, imagine what 6 months of twice weekly session might do!!!!!!

  2. DUDE how bout he come over and teach Griffin how to drink out of a straw!?!

Also I find the best way to know if they like something is to take it away. The angrier they get the more they like it! ;)

  3. Yea for Collin and the straw and the swallowing and making mom Annie very, very happy! He is just waiting for you to bring back that banana you took away from him a few months ago. Congrats to Collin on a job well done.

  5. Wow, who would've thought Collin would like electrodes so much? Or maybe there was tape involved and that was why he cried. : ) We know how he feels about tape + skin. Either way, that's the best! I bet he loves being comforted by you as much as you love doing it.
